The Dougy Center Model
Our Approach
Our work is based on a humanistic and holistic approach to understanding and supporting children and families who are grieving.
Our Influence
Dougy Center has received national and international acclaim for our innovating peer support model for helping children cope with the death of a family member. The Dougy Center Model has been replicated in over 500 sites throughout the world and is considered a ‘gold standard’ of practice in the field of grief and loss.
The Right Place
Dougy Center is the right place when nothing feels right and through our peer grief support programs, resources, training, and consultation services we have reached hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
Our Publications
We offer a variety of grief resources in both English and en Español, available to download, print, or stream.
Our book, The Dougy Center Model: Peer Grief Support for Children, Teens, & Families, outlines our history and the theoretical framework of the model that has been used to build and grow more than 500 programs throughout North America and into other continents as well.
