Make a Lasting Impact
The Chappell Legacy Society
Ensure that Dougy Center is here for children, teens, young adults and their family who are grieving for as long as support is needed through your estate.
If you are considering Dougy Center or have already made plans for us in your estate plan, please let us know so that we can welcome you to the Chappell Legacy Society in name or anonymously.
All members of the Chappell Legacy Society are also welcome to the Smooth Stone Circle.
The Society’s Namesakes
The Chappell Legacy Society was named in honor of our founder, Beverly Chappell (1930-2022), and her husband, Dr. Allan Chappell (1923-1993), for their commitment to grieving children and families. It was in the basement of the Chappell’s home where the very first peer grief support group, made up of boys who had all lost their fathers, met in 1982. Through the dedication and support of many, we have become an internationally recognized leader in childhood bereavement.
