PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Since 1982, Dougy Center based in SE Portland has helped children and families through times of grief. Annually, they support around 2,500 kids, teens, young adults and adult caregivers. Last year, they provided grief resources and training to more than 400,000 people.
Over the last 14 years, Sesame Workshop, which runs the Sesame Street show, has partnered with Dougy Center on various projects and programs to provide support for families. Recently, Dougy Center was asked to be a part of their new “Growing as We Grieve” program, which focuses on support for caregivers and parents.
The online portal and videos include themes about what grief is, self-care and growing through the process.
