Volunteer FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I honor my person who died and raise money?
We are so humbled by supporters who wish to support us in memory of their loved one. Over the years, passionate supporters have established permanent endowments in the name of their loved one, created memorial walks, runs, and golf tournaments, and hosted holiday donation drives at their place of business.
How do I include Dougy Center in my will?
We are honored to be included in the charitable legacy that our supporters establish through gift planning. If you are interested in including Dougy Center in your estate, consider joining the Chappell Legacy Society which is named after our founder, Beverly Chappell and her husband Dr. Allan Chappell.
How much of my donation supports children who are grieving?
For every dollar raised, less than $0.10 is used for administrative expenses and less than $0.20 is allocated to fundraising. That means over 70% of our gift supports children who are grieving. Our most recent financial documents can be found here.
Are donations to Dougy Center tax deductible?
Yes! Dougy Center is a 501(c)(3) organization and your cash donation is tax deductible. Our Federal Tax ID number is 93-0833241. You will receive a prompt acknowledgement to use as your tax receipt once you have made your gift.
